How to apply on the website

Freedom Mortgage has many loan options, including government-backed loans such as VA, FHA, and USDA. Furthermore, it covers all 50 U.S. states.

To start your journey as a homeowner, you’ll first have to get prequalified by completing a short form on their website. They have an easy-to-find button on their landing page!

Next, you’ll need to provide your basic information. Once you finish this step, they’ll make a soft credit check, and a loan advisor will contact you by phone to complete your application.

At this point, Freedom Mortgage will analyze your debt-to-income ratio, check your Social Security Number, and request all necessary documents.

They’ll send a login link by e-mail, and you’ll be able to check the previously provided information and upload all the essential documentation via their online platform.

Nevertheless, you can only close your mortgage in person with a Freedom Mortgage loan officer. But don’t worry! They will be ready to help you!

As we showed before, the minimum credit score requirement to apply for the Freedom Mortgage depends on the loan you want to get.

As a result, you might qualify with as low as 550 for VA and FHA loans or 620 for conventional loans. Remember to check on the lender’s website!

They will also need a list of documents, including copies of pay stubs, W-2s, and bank statements. Moreover, there is a checklist with all documents needed on their website.
