Stimulus Check: ensure the financial support of up to $1,400
Are you among the many Americans across the country whom the COVID-19 pandemic financially strained? If so, you may be eligible to apply for the stimulus check.
In this blog post, we’ll walk you through how to apply for this federal aid and answer any questions you might have about it.
To apply for Stimulus Check, there are four main requirements. Check next if you’re one of the eligible ones. Next, we show what’s more you need:
- Applicants must have a Social Security Number;
- You can not be claimed as a dependent on someone else’s tax return;
- You must be a U.S. citizen, a qualifying resident alien, or a permanent resident.
The available amounts are based on the applicants’ adjusted gross income (AGI). However, the Stimulus Check has brought different income criteria each year. Check out below!
The first stimulus checks required a maximum income limit of $99,000 for single adults, $136,500 for the head of household, and $198,00 for married filing jointly.
In the second year, the requirements have decreased by $87,000 for single filers, $124,500 for single heads of households, and $174,000 for married householders.
Lastly, in the third year, the requirements were the maximum income of $80,000 for single adults, $120,000 for a head of a household, and $160,000 if married.
Documents needed to apply
It is not necessary to provide any documentation. You can already claim your benefit if you have filed a 2019 or 2020 tax return. Thus, you are automatically applied in that case.
If you didn’t receive it yet, check out the IRS website to see if you’re eligible and claim the 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit.
Also, there is still a way for people to register. They only need to access the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website and request it. It’s completely safe since they use the ID.me technology.
Applying for the Stimulus Check
As said, if you’ve filled out your 2019 or 2020 tax return, you are already enrolled to receive this benefit. Therefore, you won’t need to apply for the stimulus check or fill out any form.
Most estates have provided online portals in which citizens can check their status and whether they are eligible. So remember to check it before you try to claim this benefit.
